Aquarium Algae Cleaners
Algae cleaners for glass or acrylic are a simple, effective way to get algae scum off your tank. Most algae is both ugly and harmful, competing with your organisms for oxygen. Keep your aquarium out of sunlight, and never use lights not meant for aquariums - both promote algae growth. If you still have a lot of algae, test for phosphate and silicate, which cause blooms.
