Aquarium Ballasts and Cords
Ballasts stabilize the current of gas-conducted fluorescent lights, compact fluorescents and halides, which are naturally unstable and can cause blowouts. We carry electronic ballasts which can be used with any lighting fixture as long as it's compatible with the bulb(s) you're using. We also carry replacement ballasts for some lighting fixtures that have built-in ballasts.
Make sure your ballast accommodates the intensity of your light (VHO and HO fluorescents may need different ballasts than standard fluorescents). With metal halide fixtures you will need a metal halide ballast configured for the wattage of your bulb (HQI bulbs need an HQI ballast).
