Instructions Rinse lightly with water keeping the cylinder pieces in the net. Place in filter in a high flow area. Bacteria will colonize on the porous surface of the cylinder pieces within a few weeks. Slight discoloration of the cylinder pieces may occur, which will not affect the quality of this product.
Rinse at least once a month. Do not use tap water as chlorine in tap water may destroy the bacteria.
Replace every 6 months to a year. Do not replace all the cylinder pieces at one time; preserve some portion of the media to keep the existing bacteria colonies.
