Complete CO2 system kit from Red Sea for the health of your planted aquarium. Includes safety pressure regulator, needle valve, CO2 monitor, bubble counter, tubing and CO2 reactor - all you need is a "paintball" style tank of CO2 and you're ready to go.

Instructions:

Preparation:
  • Read the instructions for all of the individual components of the system and then decide on the best location for each of them for your specific aquarium.
  • Cut the 10' of CO2 tubing that has been provided with the CO2 system as required to connect all of the components. Add a little extra on the length of each piece of tubing to allow for later adjustments.
  • Make sure that the Pressure Regulator and your gas cylinder are compatible.
  • The outlet has a hose barb designed for standard (0.25") CO2 flexible tubing with a lock nut for added safety. The hose barb is connected to the regulator via a standard 0.125" thread.
  • The hose barb can be removed so that a solenoid control valve can be assembled directly to the regulator.
  • The regulator includes 2 pressure gauges, 1 high pressure gauge, that indicates the pressure in the cylinder and a low pressure gauge that indicates the working pressure as set with the pressure adjustment knob.
  • The working pressure can be set to values between 0-30 PSI.
Connecting the pressure regulator to the cylinder:
  • Important note: Before connecting the regulator to the cylinder make sure that the pressure adjustment knob is rotated anti-clockwise to the fully closed (zero pressure) position.
  • Take 1 end of the CO2 tubing you have prepared to connect the pressure regulator to the Needle Valve and connect it to the outlet hose barb of the regulator and secure in position with the lock nut.
  • This cylinder is equipped with pin valves. Connecting the regulator to these cylinders immediately opens the pin valve allowing the high-pressure gas to flow into the regulator.
  • Hold the cylinder in an upright position and screw it into the inlet, located at the bottom of the regulator, until tight. An immediate reading on the high pressure gauge will indicate that the pin valve has opened.
  • The absence of a hissing sound indicates that the connection is sealed correctly.
Needle valve:
  • The independent needle valve is designed to be mounted on the side of the aquarium enabling easy access for fine flow.
  • The super fine thread of the precision-machined parts enables setting stable flow rates of 4 bubbles per minutes and below.
  • The lock nut on the inlet hose barb securely fastens the tubing in place allowing the needle valve to be used for complete shut off of the gas flow.
  • The 2 parts of the needle valve can be taken apart for cleaning without the need for tools, should this become necessary.
  • Connect the free end of the CO2 tubing you have previously connected to the regulator, to the inlet of the needle valve and secure in position with the lock nut.
  • Make sure that the needle valve is fully closed by screwing the parts together in a clockwise direction.
  • Holding the regulator in 1 hand, adjust the working pressure on the regulator to approimately 15 PSI with the pressure adjustment knob.
  • Slowly open the needle valve by rotation anticlockwise until you can feel or hear the gas escaping from the outlet.
  • Now close the valve slightly until the gas flow stops and in this position attach the needle valve to the sidewall of the aquarium with the suction cups provided.
Bubble counter:
  • The bubble counter provides a clear view of the CO2 flow rate enabling accurate adjustment for dosing. It also includes a check valve that protects the gas system from back flow of aquarium water.
  • Open the top of the counter by rotating the lid anti-clockwise and pulling the lid away from the body. Fill the viewing chamber half full with fresh tap water.
  • Make sure that the rubber seal is properly seated inside the counter and close the lid by pushing down and rotating clockwise until locked into position.
  • Connect 1 end of the CO2 tubing you have prepared to connect the counter to the CO2 reactor, to the outlet at the top of the counter
Specifications:
  • Complete CO2 system for tanks 40-500 liters
  • User friendly interface
  • 1 year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
