  System I Pressure Filter
The System One is a positive pressure
filter using Diatomaceous Earth as a filtering medium. This allows removal of
particles, as small as one micron in size, even cleaning out bacteria harmful to
fish. The System One has a positive pressure of 3psi and large flow capacity of
300gph.
System One is a maintenance filter and is designed to run approximately 4 hours
at a time. After 4 hours, turn off the unit for approximately 45 minutes to
allow the unit to cool. After the cooling period the unit is ready for use
again.
Instructions:
Charging:
With the pump securely mounted on the tank, remove the glass jar. Place about
1/2 cup of diatomaceous earth or 3/4 cup for exceptionally dirty tanks to the
water in the jar and mix. Do not allow the diatomaceous earth to stay on the
edge of the jar as this will damage the jar seal. Replace the jar under the pump
body. It is recommended that you use only System One diatomaceous earth.
Recharging Unit:
Turn the unit off and let it set about ten seconds. This allows the earth to
settle in the jar. Remove the jar slowly with left hand under the bottom of the
jar. Lower the jar about halfway down the filter element. With your right hand,
loosen the element by turning with a slight downward pressure. Carry the jar and
element to the area for cleaning. Wash out the jar and rinse the cartridge
thoroughly with hot water. The cartridge may be scrubbed if necessary. The DE
Cartridge can be reused. The duration of the cartridge is determined by the
usage. The System One Diatomaceous Earth can be rotated in solution and used two
or three times depending on usage.
