High phosphate levels lead to algae blooms which deplete the nutrients and oxygen in your tank (and are a pain to clean). We recommend regular phosphate testing for all freshwater and marine aquariums.
Instructions:
Fill test vial with 10ml of water
Add 6 drops of PO4-1 reagent and swirl gently for 10 seconds
Add 1 level scoop of PO4-2 and swirl gently for 30 seconds
Place the test vial on a white part of the color scheme and compare the colors by looking from above. An intermediate color corresponds to an intermediate phosphate content
The phosphate values are in ppm phosphate. If you prefer a reading in ppm phosphate-phosphor then divide the reading by 3 or use the table given with the instructions.
Should you require an even higher sensitivity then double the water sample and the reagents. The scale should then be divided by 2.
